What a fabulous novice camp! We once again returned to Chester for our novice's first training weekend, after racing at Dee Head a few weeks ago (race report to come!)
This is the weekend when our new rowers make the transition from having help from seniors sitting the boat to rowing together, all eight as a novice boat. Effectively removing the stabilisers! They also had some time on the rowing machines and doing mobility and stretching sessions.
We slept on the floor of the local Scout Hut, and used their kitchen to make sufficient bolognese for 45 hungry novices and helpers.
Some big gains have been made by our novices, culminating in a side by side race as the sun set over the picturesque River Dee.
Huge thanks to Royal Chester Rowing Club for hosting us once again!
