Henley Women's Regatta 2023

This year, the senior women’s squad sent two quads to Henley to compete in the Chairman’s Trophy. Our second quad, despite a strong time trial, unfortunately missed out on qualifying.

The first quad, consisting of Sarah Durham, Freya Moore, Elizabeth Beardshaw and Lottie Davis, rowed an incredible time trial. This makes them the first ever fully SURC quad to qualify for Henley Women’s and marking their place in this international competition. For their heat, the girls were drawn against A.A.S.R Skoll, a Dutch crew. Off a very good start, the girls rowed an impressive, clean race, with Lottie steering a very straight line down the course, but unfortunately Skoll held their lead to the line.

The presence of both crews at Henley is a testament to all of the hard work and dedication of the women’s squad throughout this year. This has been a brilliant end to the season for the senior women and we are all extremely proud of them. This sets an exciting precedent for consistent future qualification of SURC crews at Henley Women’s Regatta.
