SURC Summer Success

Nicole Lamb is back after a great time in Shanghai after making her presence known in the women’s single sculls at the FISU World University Rowing Championships. Nicole made it into the A final, in which she put a great performance, only narrowly missing out on a medal and coming 4th. This follows a great season for Nicole which saw her be part of the winning 4x at Henley Women’s, and qualified for the Princess Grace Challenge Cup.

In other news, three SURC rowers, all of which learned to row on our Novice Program, are currently at the British Rowing Sculling Camp in Nottingham, following selection at the recent British Rowing Talent Confirmation Day. Luke Green, John Gunton, and Lucy Hayes are 3 of the 39 rowers at the camp, learning to be competitive at sculling ahead of the British Rowing Sculling Festival this weekend. This will hopefully give the three of them good preparation in anticipation of the British Rowing Championships in autumn, and GB selection in the new year.
